Mercy Foundation Trust, a UK-based health promotion Charity, in partnership with South Gloucestershire Public Health Team presents, the Abundant Health Community Project, a consolidated fight to prevent Hypertension (High Blood Pressure), Diabetes, Obesity, Hypercholesterolemia (High blood cholesterol), Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack) and Stroke. These diseases are on the upward trend and we are heading for a “Public Health Emergency” if no action is taken now.
The event will comprise a seminar on Stroke Prevention and a workshop (where participants’ Blood pressures, weights, heights and BMI-Body mass index will be measured and professional advice given accordingly). Risk factors for Stroke include: diabetes, hypertension (High Blood Pressure), hypercholesterolemia (High Blood Cholesterol), Obesity and Atrial fibrillation (Irregular Heart Beat).
The target attendees are South Gloucestershire residents in the UK, however, this is a global problem and therefore the event will be streamed live to a global audience.

Attendance is free but registration is required. For South Gloucestershire residents attending in person, you are advised to register as soon as possible as seats are limited.
